Lourdes
"Although you may not be religious, do go..."
The Church stands in all its glory and prominent position along side of the river with the Pyrenees Mountains in the back ground. This alone gives an unexplainable feeling and to add to the atmosphere, people queuing for the holy water from a spring supplying 35 taps and 17 baths and hundreds of candles of all sizes burning in rows of special containers.
Inside the Church there are many plaques thanking for the cure from cancer and other incurable sicknesses.
As many as 5,000,000 pilgrims, tourist, sick and disabled visit Lourdes each year making Lourdes only second to Rome.
In the town itself there are endless shops and restaurants with the castle overlooking the town.

Le Pierre St. Martin
La Pierre St Martin is a modern ski resort, Settled on the west of Pyrenees, at a height of 1650 meters. The Pierre Saint Martin is a ski resort with a magnificent landscape. It's a nice village with chalets nestled in the pine forest at the bottom of the slopes, face to the big Pic d'Anie and to a panoramic ski field, are located residences in order to benefit from sun. It's a perfect place for family, children, glide training, and for a relax skiing in nature. There is snow all year round on the tops. Each year, on July 13th the farmers of Arette meet with their neighbours from the Spanish side, up on the Col, and exchange tokens of friendship, to confirm their rights to common grazing, which date back to the 14th century.Their pacts is re-worn every year with a handshake across the "Mont-Joie", or pile of stones which mark the frontier at the col. This area is also reputed for its great caverns.
